Sunday Snippets

1. He has started sucking on his top sheet when
he goes to bed at night - disgusting.
2. He started repeating Dave's prayer last night when dave
was tucking him into bed.
3. Today he tripped at least twice, he is really clumsy. However Dave accidentally
shot off a little disc gun in marcus' face and it made his lip bleed.
4.  Whenever we go to the park his favorite thing to do
is to go down the slide face first.
5. He calls sno cones "cone" and asks for them all day long.
6. He already has a farmers tan - can't wait to see it at the end of the summer.

:: Lucy ::

1. Lucy's hair is out of control - it's getting longer but it's sticking
straight up.
2. She loves when Marcus laughs at her but not when he laughs or screams in her face.
3. She has slept through the night for the past 2 months straight - knock on wood.
4. I painted her toes again this week and she is so good to hold still :)
5. Her legs are getting so chunky, she has so many rolls.

"Now I Can" walk/run for McKay

Our nephew McKay has been an inspiration to the entire family with overcoming his physical limitations. The organization that helped him with physical therapy and learning how to walk hosted a walk/run fundraiser. We were so happy to be part of it. I have never been part of something like that and it was very emotional and inspiring!

McKay started off the walk by walking out in front of everyone. Then when he crossed the finished line he was able to walk across. (I didn't get pictures of either, I was so emotional at watching him I forgot to get out my camera)

Lucy :: 5 months

Lucy continues to be a dream baby and bring such a sweet spirit into our home. She is so sweet and sensitive that marcus usually makes her cry at least 5 times a day.  She has started to roll over (May 6th to be exact) and only does it occasionally. She is very content to be held all day but I cannot indulge her so she has learned to like laying on her play mat. She is nursing great but has gradually become hungrier at each feeding to where I have started to supplement with formula. We have tried feeding her rice and otameal cereal and she won't eat any of it. We have tried multiple times and have decided to wait until she is 6 months and we will start with some baby food. She still sleeps great and takes 2-3 naps. She sleeps for about 2 hours at each nap and sometimes takes a cat nap around dinner time. She still sleeps through the night (knock on wood) and hasn't woken up in the middle of the night for a few months. (I don't know how she is such a great sleeper)

She has been a little constipated so we continue to give her the white grape juice mixture and it helps keep her regular. She has had some baby acne on her cheeks and on her neck but I put a little bit of coconut oil on it and it has dissapeared.

Lucy still wakes up so happy and has the biggest gummy smiles. She continues to amaze me at fast she is growing. She fits in some clothing that is bigger than her size and she is starting to get rolls all over. We are loving every second we have our little Lucy in our family. Marcus loves to give her kisses and is still learning how to be gentle with her. They are becoming good friends and Marcus loves to try and have her hold things. Time is going so much faster than it did with Marcus so we are trying to enjoy each moment.

Sunday Snippets

:: Marcus ::

1. He now does the actions for "wheels on the bus" - he has not been a singer
or one to do the actions so this is a big step for him.
2. He sucks on the top sheet when he is trying to go to bed, it's
gross but I think it's a security thing.
3. We filled up our bird feeders in the back yard and he
loves to watch them eat from the kitchen table.
4. We spent the weekend down at my parents house and he
loved spending time with "pa" throwing rocks in the river and
riding the 4-wheelers.
5. He has been telling us before he poops that he needs to poop, which
means he is getting closer to potty training - we are starting in July.

:: Lucy ::

1. Lucy has started plumping up - her cheeks could not get any bigger, and
her thighs have the cutest rolls. (she even has a diaper rash because of all
of her rolls)
2. She started grabbing at her legs and feet on her changing
table.
3. She still doesn't like rice cereal but I can tell she is starving - she
wants to eat more and more each day.
4. She will grab anything up by her face and put it directly
into her mouth - no matter what it is.
5. She slept great at Grandma and Grandpa Randall's house
and slept through the night. She did wake up at 6:30 a.m. but still a great sleeper.

35 and Dave

Dave turned 35 this year and I thought it was about time we had a party for him with his friends (i'm secretly hoping he will throw me a fun birthday party this year because i threw him a fun one). On his actual birthday he worked until the afternoon and then we opened presents. He got a fun Oreo cookbook from Marcus, he picked it out at costco. He also got a book, "the hobbit" dvd, and some clothes.

 We were lucky to have Uncle Jarom with us so we went out to Hot Dog On a Stick, Dave's choice. Marcus wanted to go eat at a park so bad and of course we gave in.

 We came home and had birthday cake. I had big plans to make a cake but ended up going over to Reams and buying a yummy bakery cake. I had them write "lucky 35" on it. Marcus loved the party hats and wanted to wear 2.

That weekend of Dave's birthday we got together with some of our friends from the singles ward we all met in. We had chinese food and they gave Dave and our friend Steve big fortune cookies because it was their birthday's. Dave actually ate the whole thing. We then went bowling and then over to Leatherby's for some ice cream. I didn't get any pictures unfortunately because I was having such a good time visiting. It was a fun birthday week for dave!

Sunday Snippets

:: Marcus ::

1. Marcus doesn't eat breakfast anymore, he just drinks orange juice.
2.  When you ask him a question he will answer usually "yes" or
"no" but he says "no" in the cutest way, with a smirk on his face.
3. Since we found out that marcus loves to put things together we bought him
some bristle blocks (one of my favorite toys when I was little). He loves
them almost as much as we do.
4. His favorite book right now is "Uh-Oh Baby" - a book we got from the
library. Let's just say we are glad it is going back to the library.
5. He still loves to eat 2 oreo's before bed, dunking them in milk. Half
the time he spills the milk.

:: Lucy ::

1. Lucy always sleeps with her hand up by her face
right by her binky, just to keep it in.
2. She is grabbing at toys all around her including the ones hanging
on her play mat.
3. Her hair is sticking straight up as it is growing out. I love to rub her
hair that is so fuzzy.
4. She loves to put her fingers in my mouth and then just pull.
5. She only laughs when you bring her up to your face over and over again.

Mom's Day

I had a fabulous Mother's day this year. I did absolutely nothing and dave did all the cooking and dishes. My present was our new patio, so what did we do - we used it! We had Dave's family over and had Cafe Rio salads. Marcus gave me cookie roses from nursery - he has such great nursery leaders. I am so blessed to have my two beautiful children and also to have a great Mother.

Guard's 1st B-day

Our nephew Guard turned 1 and my sister Tresa planned a really fun farm theme party. Lucy loved being held by grandma and grandpa and Marcus loved playing with his cousins. They had a great train pulled by a 4-wheeler that even the adults were able to enjoy.

My sister Tresa is an amazing seamstress. She sewed this cute farm quilt with vegetables and fruit that you can pull out and play with. And yes she has 4 kids and had time to sew this.
