Sunday Snippets

:: Marcus ::

1. Marcus ate the last of the popsicles this week and I told

him I wasn't going to buy anymore because it was too cold outside. Now

he just asks for slurpee's every day.

2. He was a ninja turtle for Halloween but he has no idea

who the names of the ninja turtles are or even watch the cartoons.

3. When we play downstairs his number one thing to want to do is

is play with lego's. He wants to build houses, cars, towers, etc.

4. He was so excited for Halloween and the next day he asked "Is it

Christmas now? Is Santa coming?". We had to explain Thanksgiving.

5. He told Dave and I that Santa will bring him Halloween Lego's and a Truck for Christmas.

:: Lucy ::

1.  Lucy is become quite the copy cat. She wants what everything
Marcus has. He has been sick lately and she wants medicine and juice, etc.
2. We have cut back on her binky to just when she is sleeping now. She wants
it constantly though. She needs a lot of security "things" such as her blankies, stuffed animals,
and her binkie. I'm hoping we can get rid of it at night here soon :)
3. Lucy is still my cuddle bug. She will cuddle with you anytime and for however long
you want. She loves to cuddle right after she wakes up in the morning and after her nap.
4. We bought Toby a new dog toy that squeaks and she laughs so hard
when she hears it squeaking. It's hilarious.
5. Lucy loves the TV or the tablet. She will watch basically anything and for however long
you let her. I have to be really careful because she doesn't get bored with it.

Sunday Snippets

:: Marcus ::

1. Marcus changes his mind every day about what he wants to be for 

Halloween. I finally just bought him a ninja turtle costume and said

here is your costume. He loves it.

2. He asked me the other day "What costume are you going to wear on Halloween"

mom and I said I don't really like dressing up for Halloween. He just sat there

looking sad.

3. He finished up soccer and loved it! He didn't score a goal

but he did kick the ball a lot more and loved being part of a team.

4. Every once in a while he will say that Santa is coming and

bringing him a certain toy. I'm really excited for Christmas to see all

the joy and happiness on his face as we celebrate the season.

5. He told me this morning as I was getting ready for church "you are pretty mom". It

melted my heart and I told him he should always tell the girls that they are pretty.

:: Lucy::

1. She has 3 freckles on her nose that popped out this week. She is

getting older every day.
2. Every time she is in the bath and we wash her she giggles and giggles when
we wash behind her ears. I love to hear it so I do it for a few minutes.
3. She continues to dance anytime she hears a beat.
4. She asks for her binky at least 10 times a day and now that her teeth
have all cut through I don't give in. She only has it when she sleeps. She throws the biggest fits though.
5. She loves to say "pretty" after I do her hair and then she touches
mine and says "pretty".
6. She has to have a blanket on her back when she is rocked to sleep. It's
her queen cape. She usually walks around all day with it around her back.

Sunday Snippets

:: Marcus ::

1. Marcus told me this week that Santa was going to bring him

a Mickey Mouse stuffed animal for Christmas. It's going to be a long 4 months

until Christmas gets here.

2. He loves that new song "It's all about that bass" and sings

that one line over and over.

3. He started pre-school for the second year this week and so far has loved it.

4. He also started soccer and has yet to really love it.

5. He asks for otter pops at every meal and when he

gets to eat them (after lunch) he usually wants 3 or 4.

:: Lucy ::

1. Lucy said "more please" this week and I was so

happy she put two words together. She is talking so much more than Marcus did at this age.

2. She wants to be miss independent. After I change her diaper and get

her clothes she says "me, me, me". She will usually put her shirt on her legs.

3. She loves the pony's she got from grandma and grandpa randall and plays

with them all day every day.

4. She is very stubborn, I know it's the age, but she does not like

to share and screams when she doesn't get something she wants.

5. She hates going down the stairs again. Last night she sat at the top

of the stairs and screamed and cried for 10 minutes. She is stubborn and so weird about the stairs.

Sunday Snippets

:: Marcus ::

1. Marcus is growing up right before our eyes. When we went to the

part with cousin Jack and Brooklyn instead of wanting to ride in the swings he wanted

to push Lucy and Jack, he was so sweet.

2. I asked him what he learned in primary today and he said "we learned about

the spirit, the spirit makes you strong". Not sure what that means but he was cute when he said it.

3. We are working on him saying his "s's". It doesn't come easy for him

and he has to think about before he says it. I'm constantly reminding him to say the "s" at the

end of the word "this". He is working so hard on talking.

4. We moved his room around this week so we could make a reading

corner for him, like Lucy's room. He loves it and reads in there every day by himself.

5. He is really onry when he wakes up from his naps. He still naps from

2-3ish on the couch watching his "preschool prep" DVD's.

:: Lucy ::

1. Lucy is a giggler. She will giggle and get excited about

the littlest things. She will giggle when I hold up her blankie to her, when

I give her some juice, when she sees her dolly, etc. She will giggle and it brings a smile to my face.

2. She got her first professional hair cut this last week. (my mom has trimmed it a few times) She

held so still and was even better when she had it braided. She looked so darling

and so grown up with it braided (now if only I could do it braided).

3. While Marcus was away at Father's and Sons she had the best

time playing with her toys and running around the house without Marcus chasing and

taking her things away. She didn't cry once.

4. She loves to play dress-up and put on my cleaning gloves and hats

and go around the house cleaning and pushing her dolls.

5. She loves her reading corner and will put all of her blankets and

stuffed animals in the corner while she reads.

Sunday Snippets

:: Marcus ::

1. He has been coming up to dave or I and saying "mom told me I 

could ________". Sometimes it's true and sometimes it's not.

2. He has seen his two aunt's who are pregnant 

and says he wants a baby in his tummy.

3. His primary teachers say he volunteers to do anything which is so surprising 

because he has never wanted to be in front of the group.

4. He says "uh uh" so cute with this high pitch to it and then he shakes his head up and down.

5. He still loves to eat bananas and nutella. He would have 4-5 if

I let him but I tell him one per day.

6. He found Dave's superman lunchbox and insisted on eating lunch

out of it outside. He even found a second superman lunchbox that Dave had and 

had lucy eat her lunch out of it. They had their own picnic outside.

:: Lucy ::

1. Lucy loves to dress up. I got the dress up stuff down and

she wanted to wear the superman cape and this pink scarf. She got so mad

when I took it off her at night.

2. Her vocabulary has taken off, she loves to say "Me, me ,me", "dee" for candy,

eyes, ears, nose, mouth. She also says hi to everyone.

3. She has become the pickiest eater this week. She only

wants candy and sugar. We have created a monster.

4. She would watch TV all day if I let her. I really have to limit what she watches.

5. She can entertain herself really well. I think she will be

so happy when she gets playtime to herself while Marcus is at pre-school.

Sunday Snippets

:: Marcus ::

1.  Marcus saw all the piggy banks at Walmart and wanted
one so bad. I told him we could use it as his "listening piggy bank". Every
time he listens and obeys he gets to put a penny in his piggy bank. He chose the Thomas
the Train piggy bank, which is weird because he doesn't watch Thomas the Train. It's kind
of working, we are giving it some more time.
2. He has asked every day when his Lego party is and if it's today.
3. He asks to watch "curious george" about 20 times a day but
when I say no 19 out of 20 times he is fine and finds a toy to play with.
4. He still loves to talk about his day at night before
we sing him good night songs. If we forget he always comes
back out of his room and says "Talk about my day mom".
5. His sleeping is back to normal, thank heavens. He is sleeping through the night but
still gets up around 7:30-8:00.
6. He loved his swimming lessons and the last day was a free day to just
go down the slide and off the diving board. He had no fear on both!

:: Lucy ::

                               1. Lucy's favorite word is "no". She actually has quite a few words
                        she can say (go, cheese, hi, byebye, mom, dad, yes, mine) but her favorite is "no".
                              2. She can throw a temper tantrum like nobody I've seen. She will throw
                            herself on the ground and sort of bang her head on the floor which then makes her 

                                                    cry even harder. Sometimes I just laugh.

                                   3. She got a purse when Marcus was opening his birthday presents (so she

                 wouldn't feel left out, I know we spoil her) and she carries it everywhere. She comes

                     up to you and says "bye" and gives you a kiss and then walks to the door.

                          4. Her favorite book right now is "That's not my Princess", my sister gave it to

                                me as a hand-me-down and she just wants to read it over and over.

                                  5. She is still the best snuggler with all of her blankets. I'm hoping

                                       I can make her a new blanket so we have another one to rotate.

Sunday Snippets

:: Marcus ::

1. Marcus now calls his grandpa's "Papa's". It just changed recently but

sounds so cute when he says it.

2. This morning he was showing Lucy how to use

his play screwdriver and wrench. She wasn't doing it right

and he continued to tell her how to do it.

3. He has hit a growth spurt the last few weeks. His pajamas and

jeans don't fit anymore. It's crazy how fast he is growing.

4. He is constantly talking about his Lego Party coming up in a week. He

is so excited for his friends and cousins to come over.

5. He is obsessed with water and water balloons. His favorite

thing is to put the sprinkler under the tramp and jump for hours.

6. He started swimming lessons this week and loves every minute of it!

:: Lucy ::

1. Lucy is so fun to be around because she has started saying more

words and imitating what we say. 

2. She also loves to jump on the tramp with the sprinklers. She runs

around screaming with the biggest smile on her face.

3. She would eat candy all day long and she asks for it all day long. She tries

to say "candy" but it comes out "di".

4. She has two favorite blankets and will not sleep or cuddle with

any other blankets. She screams when Marcus takes them away.

5. She is the best snuggler and will just melt into your body. She will

snuggle anytime and I love it!

Sunday Snippets

:: Marcus ::

1. I wouldn't let Marcus eat a banana last night after we

watched our neighborhood fireworks so he told Dave before he went to bed "I 

don't have a banana in my tummy dad".

2. He has a love hate relationship with Lucy. He teases her constantly but

then he doesn't want to leave her out of anything. If he gets something like a little toy

then he wants Lucy to have one also.

3. When Uncle Jarom was here Marcus wanted to 

wear a button down shirt just like him.

4.  He loves going to our weekly summer movie - probably

because he gets an icee most times. I have been so impressed that

he watches the entire movie. We used to not be able to take

him to movies.

5. He has started sleeping through the night again and

we are crossing our fingers it lasts.

:: Lucy ::

1. Lucy still doesn't have her eye teeth. We keep waiting for them to pop

through but haven't seen them yet. She still will eat anything and doesn't choke.

2. She gets so excited when we come downstairs to watch TV. She never comes down

on her own to watch but loves to watch with me. Her favorites right now are Sesame Street and 

any Tinkerbell movie.

3. She will play on her own for a very long time. She enjoys playing

with the toys around the house as long as Marcus doesn't take them from her.

4. She gets so upset when I don't hold her exactly when she

wants to be held. She cries and cries until I pick her up. (it's usually when I'm trying to get the

dishes done).

5. She loves to be outside just like Marcus. She will play with the sand

table or the sidewalk chalk.

Sunday Snippets

:: Marcus ::

1. Water balloons have become his new obsession. Ever since we

found the amazing new toy that pumps them up and ties them.

2. He has started calling Dave by his name "Dave" instead of saying dad. It's funny

but then we have to correct him.

3. He likes to whisper secrets to Dave and I. He tells us

that he loves us, that is his secret.

4. He is loving the horse therapy that his speech therapy has

started with him. He especially loves to ride fast on the horse.

5. He hasn't been sleeping very well lately. We are not sure

why but he wakes up 2-3 times a night. We are hoping it is just a phase.

6. He loves to play peek-a-boo with Lucy under the table, when they

are eating.

:: Lucy ::

1. Lucy is very afraid of fly's. Anytime there is one in our house

she starts screaming and jumping around.

2. She is a dancer. Anytime music comes on she starts moving her body

and moving around.

3. She has started imitating us when we say certain words. Her favorite

word right now is "go".

4. She loves wearing her rain boots and splashing through the

puddles. She would stay out there in the rain for hours!

5. She is a momma's girl. She loves to cuddle with

me and doesn't go to Dave very often. I love every minute of it!
