26 week baby bump

I know our bedroom is messy, that is dave's side :) But as you can tell this last week I kind of popped out, at least that's how I feel. Even my maternity clothes are tighter and I had to find more jeans to wear. One of the same things as my last pregnancy is that I have this pain just above my right rib cage after I eat. I had it with marcus and my doctor has no way to explain it.

I started getting heartburn after I eat also. Makes me sad, I thought it was just with boys, or maybe it's when the baby has hair. I can't remember. I just know that Marcus had cute black hair when he was born so I hope this little girl is not bald and that I'm having heartburn for nothing.

Little baby sister loves to kick me on the right side most of the time. She has woken me up a few times the last week, I usually sleep right through anything when I'm pregnant because I'm so tired. I'm ready for the fall weather so that I can hibernate in my house and not have to work outside in the yard on Saturdays. My back is so sore every Saturday because I want to do a lot of work but my body is not allowing it. I told Dave that it's a good thing this baby is coming in the winter this time so I don't overdo it when I'm nine months pregnant.

When I tell people my due date they always say "Oh a New Year's Baby!" and I have to correct them and tell them the baby will be born this year because we will induce on December 27th if she hasn't come on her own. When I say that everyone knows why - tax purposes. I just hope she comes on her own!

Sunday Snippets

1. This week we have seen a big change in marcus, not only his personality
but in his mannerisms and his emotions.
2. When he wants something he has to make sure that dave and I have
some also, it's really sweet.
3. He loves to carry more than two things with him around the house
or up the stairs. He will try and put the third in the crook of his elbow but it usually
falls out. He will try over and over and it will fall out every time, it's adorable to watch.
4. He asks for "mac n' cheese" constantly, even for breakfast. But he also
likes the canned peaches we made.
5. We bought a new chair for the nursery - a recliner/glider/rocker. The night
we traded it for the existing chair marcus threw a fit. We had no idea he would do that. It
made us realize that he is going to have a hard time when we move him to a big
boy bed and to a different room.

25 week baby bump

I had my 24 week appointment and everything looks great. I am measuring right on schedule and the baby's heartbeat is 145, perfect. The little baby girl is moving around a lot more and loves to kick my right side - over and over. The doctor gave me the fun little drink for my next month's appointment to take the glucose test. I'm really nervous because I failed it with Marcus and had to go back for the long test. I'm crossing my fingers everything comes out ok. So far I've gained 11 pounds, my doctor says I'm right on schedule. My appetite has increased but mostly with fruit and dairy. With Marcus I craved sugar but this pregnancy I have just wanted more food, weird I know.

I am starting to make a list of all the pink things I need to make for this little girl. We are converting the nursery into a girl puppy nursery so I need to make new changing pad covers, crib sheets, and drapes. I might end up buying those things if I can find any of them for cheap and in pink. The biggest sewing project I am tackling is making a car seat cover, not for over the top but for the actual car seat, why we didn't buy gender neutral I will never know.

As for names, we are stuck. Dave likes one name and I like another. We haven't talked about anymore and I haven't gotten anymore baby name books at the library. I did get a pregnancy yoga DVD and have yet to try it out. I seem to get enough exercise by mowing the lawn and doing outside work on the weekends - don't worry, it's not because Dave is a slacker, I just enjoy working out in the yard and know it's good exercise.

Marcus and I shopped the girl toy isle at Target the other day for cousin Claire's birthday - it was so much fun! So much pink everywhere. I don't know about Marcus but I am getting more excited each day to have this little baby girl in my life!

Sunday Snippets

1. Marcus is in love with Peanut Butter. He asks for it constantly. Sometimes
he wants it on bananas and sometimes he tricks me and just eats it off the bananas. (he
takes after me, I eat a lot of peanut butter)
2. Since his find into our cleaning cabinet and me calling poison control, he has learned
how to shake his finger and say "no, no, no". It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. (I will try to
load a video).
3. We found a toy story book at the library the other day and now
it's the only book he wants to read - he is obsessed with buzz from Toy Story
4. His sense of humor is so fun to watch as it develops. He loves to
laugh at himself and put his hands over his mouth when he laughs.
5. His nursery teachers have been saying every week for
the last couple of weeks that he has been playing so well and being really good. (we are hoping his hitting and pushing was just a stage he was going through:)

Sunday Snippets

1. Marcus can now go down the slide by himself, he has for a few weeks
but I forget to write about it. He lands on his feet and loves for Dave and I to watch him.
2. He is obsessed with Peanut Butter. He helped me make peanut butter cookies
yesterday and he couldn't keep his fingers out of the bowl. When I put peanut butter
on crackers he can't get enough peanut butter.
3. He is saying a few more words but we have set up speech therapy. My thoughts about it:
any help I can get to have him start talking sooner, I am all for it. I really need him talking more
by the time baby sister arrives.
4. This last week Marcus has woken up almost every night, sometimes twice a night. Ever
since he was sick he hasn't been sleeping through the night. He is cutting teeth but it is
dragging on, he only has one more to cut besides his 2 year old molars.
5. Marcus is a dream to take shopping, he doesn't get bored or whiny he is just patient. I take
this for granted until I hear or see others kids his age shopping. He is very patient
with me and usually doesn't cry or throw a fit when he doesn't get something he sees he wants.
6. I had to call poison control this week. Dave and I were frantically looking for his whistle
so he could ref the stake young men's volleyball games and marcus was being quiet and got
into our cleaning closet, which is usually child proof locked, and sprayed the Febreeze
into his eye and mouth. Luckily they didn't say it was anything to worry about but
Marcus continued to point to his mouth and cry.
7. He got his first big boy haircut, not by mommy and daddy. I wanted to keep it long but it grows so
fast so we took him to cookie cutters. I still think we can cut it just as well just not with the scissors :) He did great and loved the car he got to sit in!

22 weeks baby bump

I have been craving chocolate this week and we don't have any in our house except for chocolate chips. So I have my little cup (like my dad always does) of chocolate chips that satisfy my craving. Little sister has been moving around like crazy after I eat and fortunately I haven't had bad heartburn like I did with Marcus.

I have gone through a few baby name books from the library and Dave and I have made a list. I am still stuck on one name and he also has one name. I am trying not to get stressed about picking a name and know it will come to us, if it hasn't already.

I am loving that I am not big yet but have noticed it's harder to bend over. I'm am cherishing these few months where I am not big and uncomfortable. I still hate sleeping on my side, I love sleeping on my stomach. I usually end up with some part of my body asleep. I always sleep pregnant with my body pillow and have to switch from side to side.

We bought some cute clothes for baby sister. I am absolutely loving looking at all the girl clothes. They can be incredibly expensive but I am not willing to pay an arm and a leg for clothes she will not wear that much, at least not yet :) I also bought some cute head bands, simple ones.

I started thinking this week about Christmas and how I don't want to be stressed about everything. So I told Dave that I am going to try hard to get Christmas presents, etc done with by Thanksgiving. I think I can do it seeing as we only have one child to buy for and we subscribe to Amazon Prime (a lifesaver!). Wish me luck. I just want to enjoy every second of this little baby girl when she comes and with a due date around the holidays I know it will be hectic if I don't start planning. But I was also thinking about what a great holiday present this will be for dave and I.

Sunday Snippets

1. Marcus can cruise down the stairs, even faster than us. He lays down on his
stomach, puts his feet in the air and just rolls on his stomach.
2. He has just started to want to help me load and unload the dishwasher. He
will stand next to it and hold his hand out when I am loading it. He is such a helper.
3. He has suddenly wanted to read, read, read. His favorite book right now
is one we found at Costco called "Gossie plays hide and seek". Every day he asks for
"goss" and finds the book. At night we can't get him to stop
picking out books to read.
4. Dave has taught him to do the following in order: kiss, hug, high 5, blow it up - Marcus loves
doing it with his daddy.
5. I repeat what he says, even if it doesn't make sense and I don't know what it means, when I
do he laughs and puts his hands over his mouth.
6. He loves to go out in the garden with me and pick the fruit, this last week
he wanted his own bowl and not mine to put the small tomatoes in.
7. He loves to look at "The Friend" magazine. I told him to look  at it on the couch while I was
vacuuming and I got done and this is what I saw:
