Do we look alike?

I found this picture of myself when I was about 9 months old. I thought I would try and re-create the picture with Lucy since we went to Yellowstone when she was about 9 months old also. Do we look anything alike?

Sunday Snippets

:: Marcus ::

1. Marcus for some reason loves to put crayons, paint brushes, and
pens in his mouth. He comes home from pre-school with his mouth and shirt painted
or colored on. I don't know how to teach him to stop.
2. He is now a champ at riding the bus and loves it!
3. His nap is history because he was getting to bed so late. We are
working on "quiet time" so we both get a break.
4. Marcus is definitely testing Dave and I's patience. He is a really
difficult 3 year old and we are waiting for him to grow out of it :)
5. He loves to color and is learning how to color in the lines.

:: Lucy ::

1. Lucy is crawling all over the place! Her favorite thing is
to get the dog food of course.
2. She has started pulling herself up on things, just to her knees. Not on
her feet yet.
3. Her hair is getting so long and growing into her eyes but
she won't keep any hair barrets in.
4. She will now only nap with her sleep sac on. It was a little chilly
so I put her in it and now she won't nap unless she has it on.
5. She is slowly weaning from nursing. I nurse her in the morning
and then bottle feed her the rest of the day. I was on some medication for a
sinus infection and my milk supply decreased. She also didn't nurse as well once
she started crawling. (just like Marcus)
6. She loves to suck on her bottom lip.

9 months :: Lucy

Lucy has grown a lot in the last month -even though she has only gained 1 pound. She is a skinny minny but still eats a ton of grown-up food. She still doesn't like baby food but will eat grown-up food. I can usually get her to eat baby food with any type of baby yogurt. She started crawling the middle of September, a few weeks before she turned 9 months.

Here are her stats:
   Height: 28 inches - 50th percentile
   Weight: 16 lbs. 1 ounce - 25th percentile
   Head: 44 inches

Lucy continues to sleep great and eat great. I am still nursing but I can tell that now she is mobile she is not nursing as well. The same thing happened with Marcus. I don't think she will go much longer with nursing. I'm not complaining or upset about it. I always say that I have a Love/Hate relationship with nursing. She is still taking 2 - 2 hour naps, one at 10 and one at 2. She is right on with her clothes and is wearing 9 month. She will not keep socks on to save her life and will never keep a bow in her hair longer than 5 seconds. She has so much hair that most headbands don't look very good and she won't keep them in anyways.

Her personality is really shining and she is just a sweetheart! She is very ticklish and has the cutest little laugh that doesn't come easily. She loves to jabber and smile whenever she sees me. She gets shy around strangers but will also give them a smile. She loves to take baths and also will not hold still to get her diaper changed.

I am hanging on to every minute with her because she is growing up too fast and will soon be walking and even turn 1. I love kissing her chubby cheeks any chance I get and her pretty blue eyes melt my little heart.

Sunday Snippets

:: Marcus ::

1. Marcus now responds to everything by saying "Oh"
in a cute high pitch voice. It's adorable.
2. We have to work everyday with him on new words. He is
working on Love and Sorry this week. It's pretty exhausting but worth it
to hear him talking better.
3. He did great in Jackson Hole. It was a lot of driving
and luckily he slept a lot and watched movies in the new minivan.
4. He loves playing on the i-pad. His favorite
games are puzzles (cow and farm), farm game, and Alphatots.
5. Every time we watch a movie he asks for popcorn.

:: Lucy ::

1. Lucy is full on crawling. She doesn't go very far except
when she really sees something she wants that is far away. She has
even learned to crawl over to me when she wants to be picked up.
2. Her hair is growing so fast! It's starting to get in her eyes but
she still won't keep a hair bow in her hair.
3. My mom helped me put two pig tails in her hair. It lasted
a few hours before they fell out. She looked so cute!
4. We put socks on her in Jackson Hole because it
was chilly and she immediately took them off and chewed on them.
5. She was so good in Jackson Hole. In the condo she would be
content to just sit on the floor surrounded by her toys.

Jackson Hole

We had planned this trip to Jackson Hole with my parents at the beginning of the year. We had been with them 2 years earlier and had a great time. We stayed in a different condo this time and the only down side to that was that they were doing construction just outside our window.

We started the trip out by taking our new van. We were set to rent a van so that we could all go in one car. Then we realized we could fit in my parents old suburban but my dad needed to fix some things on it. The day before we were suppose to leave it broke down. We looked on-line to see about buying a van since we were looking for one. Our subaru needed some engine work and we didn't want to put anymore money into it so we wanted to trade it in. We found one that looked exactly like what we wanted so we bought it. We packed it up and off we went.

We stopped in Evanston for lunch/dinner and found this great McDonald's!

Lucy did great in the car played with her toys. She slept really great during her nap times and loved looking out the window.

We got into Jackson Hole late at night and checked into our condo. We had a nice condo by the town that was close to a park that marcus loved.

We entered Grand Teton National Park and immediately saw bears. We didn't get a clear picture but we saw many bears throughout our visit.

We took a few day trips and the first was to the Grand Teton National Park museum. Marcus was fascinated with all the horns and things to touch.

It's a tradition to get a picture by this moose every time we go. Here are comparing the two times we have been there.
Another day trip we took was to the overlook in the Teton National Park. We couldn't have found a better day to be there. It was breathtaking! We took some amazing pictures and some I will never forget. We went back the next day to get some more pictures and it didn't even come close to looking like it did the day before. I was in complete awe of how beautiful this earth is. I was very grateful we could go on this trip to see so many beautiful sights.

We walked downtown Jackson Hole a few times to see all the fun shops and the sights. Marcus loved the candy store and daddy indulged him in sugar.

We took a lot of driving trips and the kids fell asleep in the van a lot. Why are kids so cute when they are asleep?

We saw a few herds of buffalo, not as many as two years before when we came to yellowstone.

We all went into Yellowstone for a day and saw many beautiful sights. Lucy loved the outdoors.

Marcus wasn't so sure about the stinky hot pots.

This was one of the few family pictures we got all together. Dave and I were so excited when my parents said they wanted to go to Jackson Hole again. This trip was a little different than last time. Adding one more kid made a big difference. Yellowstone is not a trip you take with young little kids. It was boring for them but the adults enjoyed seeing all the beautiful sights.

Of course we had to see Old Faithful. Last time we missed it by 1 minute and this time we got a front row seat!

We found a great place for more bear hunting. We saw some small bear cubs, not too many big bears out.

We went to Jenny Lake and my parents rented a canoe. Dave and I did that last time on our anniversary and loved it! My parents had a great time while we took the ferry boat around Jenny lake to hear about the teton national park. Marcus wasn't a fan of the ferry and didn't want to hold still for very long.

We all didn't get very much sleep because of the sleeping arrangements (all 4 of us were in one room) but we still had a great time. We left 2 days early because we had seen everything we wanted to.
